How to Create Item Tags

TRANSCRIPT:

Hello, and welcome to this Grubhub Dashboard walkthrough. In this video we’ll show you how to create item tags from within the dashboard.

When designing item-based promotions, the system doesn’t track your individual items. Instead, you must create tags to assign to those items, then use the tags when building promotions. For instance, if you wanted a promotion that discounted all of your salads, you’d want to first create a “Salad” tag for those items.

To create item tags click the Item Tagging button on the right-hand panel. From the drop-down menu click Tags.

From here you’ll see a running list of all tags you’ve previously created, showing the name of the tag, when it was created, and when it was last updated. From this page you can also edit tags or remove them entirely.

To create a new tag click New tag at the top, type in the name of the tag you’d wish to create, then click Create merchant tag. This tag will now live with the other tags you have created. Please note, how you will categorize and tag your items is completely up to you and your team. You may choose to categorize items by menu section, food characteristics, promotional events, etc. If you’d like more inspiration on how to use item tags effectively, please reach out to your Technical Brand Manager.
